What is tcgvibes.com?
tcgvibes.com measures whether cards in a set are changing price together or on their own. When many cards move in sync, something is driving the market: a new release, a ban list, shifting demand.
This is not a price prediction. A BANGER set can have falling prices. It means cards are falling together, not separately. We show the structure of movement, not the direction.
Vibe Score 1-10
Every set gets a Vibe Score from 1 to 10. The score shows how much shared movement exists. The direction shows if it's building or fading.
VS 8-10
Cards are definitely moving together. Strong shared movement.
VS 5-7
Something is starting to drive the set. Shared movement building.
VS 1-4
Cards moving on their own. Not much connecting them.
Same score, different direction = different meaning. A VS 7 that was VS 4 yesterday (Sparking) is not the same as a VS 7 that was VS 10 (Cooling).
Behind the score
We don't average across very different cards. A 1999 Charizard and a 2024 Charizard are different animals. We group cards by what makes them comparable — game, language, condition, era — and measure structural movement inside each group, not across all cards jumbled together.
The Vibe Score reflects how strongly prices within a group are moving in coordination versus drifting independently. See the methodology page for cohort partition + measurement details.
Noise structure (the dot beside the pill)
Next to each Vibe Score we show a small colored dot. This is the noise structure health, measuring how individual cards behave beneath the shared movement.
No data yet. Need more price history.
Individual cards doing their own thing under the surface. Calm market behavior.
Normal pace. Nothing unusual.
Something's pushing cards in the same direction below the surface. Could be hype, release, shakeup.
Pattern count (“N patterns”)
When you see “2 patterns” or “3 patterns” next to a pill, it means multiple independent forces are moving different subsets of the set. Card picking becomes nuanced: not every card responds to the same story.
1 pattern is the common case (one dominant force driving the set) and is not shown. 2+ patterns surface as a small label because they change how you shop the set.
Confidence tier (pill fill style)
The pill style shows how mature the measurement is. Data needs enough snapshots before the signal stabilizes.
15+ snapshots. Signal is stable, safe to act on.
8 to 14 snapshots. Signal is emerging, still stabilizing.
Fewer than 8 snapshots. Needs a few more days before the signal means anything.
Marketplace links
We link to TCGplayer and show live eBay listings alongside vibes for quick context. You can see what's actually available and at what price, right next to the vibe signal.
As a TCGplayer and eBay affiliate, we may earn from qualifying purchases. This does not influence the data or rankings we present.
What we are not
We are not a marketplace. We are not financial advisors. We don't sell cards, hold inventory, or tell you what to buy. We surface the signal and let you decide what to do with it.
